2017 Chianti Classico - Castello Banfi

A Chianti classico from Castello Banfi. We visited this winery multiple times in 2015 and in 2019. The wine is a red wine from Sangiovese grape, it’s is medium ruby color, translucent and with a medium viscosity (13% abv). The nose is inviting with classical notes of cherry and strawberries and noticeable tertiary notes of tobacco. The palate confirms the nose with a medium body, high acidity ans soft tannins .. all perfectly balanced. The persistence is also medium. In summary a good Chianti Classico which could have benefited from a longer aging. A great match with pasta dish ( we paired with lasagna .. a perfect one ) or a meat ( game ) dish. PM 89
