2017 Laurent Kraft .. Vouvray Demi sec

This is a white wine from the Loire Valley. It is made from Chenin BLANC and its a Demi sec ( there is some sweetness ). We visited this winery in our France tour of Bourgogne and Loire in the summer 2019. The wine is a yellow straw with golden highlights, it has an average viscosity in the glass (12.5% abv). The nose is superb with notes of orange peels, candied fruits and notes of tropical fruits. The palate confirms the nose with a medium body, with almost an unctuous feeling, a medium long persistence and a touch of sweetness .. being Demi sec .. we paired with a fish based dinner ( fried calamari being one of the best match) but the sweetness could have been also a perfect pairing with dessert.
