TIEFERNRUNNER - Turmohoff 2014

This is a Cabernet Sauvignon from the Italian region of “Alto Adige”. It is dark ruby with purple highlights and the rim is not true to its core, showing bottle aging. (the bottle is a 2014 vintage, so we should expect it). The viscosity is medium high (14.5% abv). On the nose notes of black fruits ( blackberry, black cherry), secondary notes of leather and cigar box and wet leaves. The notes are very harmonious , some tertiary notes of vanilla show some aging in new oak. The palate prove it a very good wine with a full body, very smooth tannins, a balanced acidity and a medium long persistence. Summary: this is a good Cabernet Sauvignon which almost reminds me of a California Cab for his body and smooth tannins.. an enjoyable wine at a good value, to be paired with any meat dish or hard seasoned cheeses.
