Chateau Portier 2006 - Moulin a Vent
This is a Beaujolais from Moulin a Vent. It is the best Beaujolais producing area. We visited this winery in June 2019. ( see the visit blog ). The color is a bright translucent ruby with the core not true to the rim for the long bottle aging ( 16 years when we tasted ). The viscosity is medium (13% abv). The nose is absolutely gorgeous with notes of cherry , banana and an extraordinary complexity with a tertiary note of licorice. I could just inhale the wine all night long. The palate confirms the nose with a medium body , smooth tannins and a vibrant acidity and a long persistence. In summary a truly great wine .. one of the best Beaujolais. It is a light and elegante wine which it’s hard to distinguish from a great Pinot Noir. You can pair it with anything or just enjoy the drinking experience .PM 95
