Grancare 2017: Cavalier Pepe

This is a Greco di Tufo Wine from the producer Cavalier Pepe that we visited numerous times through the years. The wine is a deep yellow straw with golden highlights, it shows a age in the bottle. The viscosity is medium high for a white wine ( 13% abv ). The nose is intriguing , the fruit forward aspect has given in to a more complex wine with notes of candied fruit, an almond and marzipan notes. The palate shows a wine with a good balanced acidity and a medium persistence. In summary a good wine that after 5 years started it’s descending curve, we may have tasted in that descend. It can be paired with any fish or pasta dish and given his acidity with any dry sauce like we did with cacio e pepe. PM 89
