Terredora di Paolo : Il Principio 2013
This is a wine made from Aglianico grape ( the ubiquitous grape indigenous of Campania). This is produced in Irpinia the largest DOCG area in Campania. The producer is Terredora di Paolo which we visited in February 2021. The wine is dark ruby with the core not true to the rim ( showing bottle aging ). The viscosity is medium for this type of wine (13% abv). The vintage 2013 is a perfect vintage for drinking it in 2021 . The nose is intriguing with notes of black fruits ( blackberries and black cherry ) , tobacco and spice ( black pepper ). The palate confirms the nose with a medium body a perfect structure and a balanced acidity a medium long persistence and still harsh tannins. In summary a good wine and a perfect pairing with any meat dish ( we tasted with a juicy steak ). Pm:89
