Tifeo : Gambino 2016

The wine is from the Gambino winery which I visited in March 2019. It is in a beautiful location at over 2000 feet on Mount Etna. It is made from Nerello Mascalese.  

It a red wine, clear and filtered. It is a medium ruby color. It has a medium viscosity (13% abv). 

The nose is very intense with notes of red cherries, raspberries and floral notes of rose petals. Secondary notes of tobacco and cedar wood. 

The palate confirms the nose with notes of cherries and a perfect complexity of secondary notes well balanced with the whole. The acidity and the tannins play in harmony around a medium body. The persistence is medium Long .. enticing to have more  

This is an exceptional wine, a great representation of what Nerello Mascalese can do. A perfect pairing for Thanksgiving dinner as party time as a Beaujolais or Pinot Noir from Bourgogne. PM:95
