Colle Santa Marina - Tramonti
This is a white wine from the Amalfi Coast in the Tramonti sub zone. It is produced by Apicella winery that we visited in September 2018. The wine is a blend of Falanghina, Biancolella, Ginestra and Pepella which are indigenous grapes. The name is from the hill where this historical vineyard is located. The color is medium straw yellow, with gold highlights. The wine has aged 3 years since the vintage. The viscosity is medium high for a white wine (14% abv). The nose is inviting with clear notes of lemon zest, pineapple and some vanilla ( due to the use oak ). The palate confirms the nose with a refreshing acidity and a medium high body and a good persistence. In summary a good white wine and a perfect representation of the area, a good pairing with any fish dish ( a fried calamari would be the perfect one ). PM: 87
