Guado de Gemoli 2015 - Chiappini

This is a red wine from Bolgheri in Tuscany. Bolgheri was made famous by the introduction of the Super Tuscans a blend of international grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon

and Merlot. The producer is Chiappini; we visited this winery in September 2019 (see the blog about the visit ) The wine is a Bolgheri Superiore DOC 2015. Thw grapes come from the best producer’s vineyard. The wine is dark ruby with the core not true to the rim ( bottle aging ). The viscosity is medium high (15% abv). The nose is absolutely perfect with a notes of black currant and blackberry. Notes of cedar and tobacco join the berry notes in a perfect harmony. The palate confirms the nose with a somptuous big body , medium and perfectly balanced acidity and velvety tannins that could use some time to smooth up even further. In summary a truly exceptional wine a perfect pairing with any grilled meat dish like a barbecue night ... but I would also suggest as meditation wine in a nicw cold winter night. PM 97
