L’Atto Cantine del Notaio 2016

This is a wine from Basilicata in the Venosa town. We visited this winery in December 2018. It’s a red wine made with the Aglianico del Vulture grape. The Vulture is an ancient volcano now extinct. The wine is deep ruby with orange ring and the core not true to it. It shows some bottle aging. The viscosity is medium 13.5% abv. It’s clear and filtered. The nose is inviting with notes of black fruits as blackberries, black cherries secondary notes of leather and spice ( black pepper ). The palate confirms the nose with a medium body , a smooth tannins and a perfectly balanced acidity; the persistence is medium .. it could be longer. In summary a very good wine a perfect pairing with red meat dishes or hard cheeses. We paired with roasted chicken. Pm:89
