VILLA DEI PRETI

This is a wine from the Frascati DOCG area near Rome in the Lazio region.

we visited this area in June 2021( it’s part of the Castelli Romani ). It‘s a white wine made from a blend of Grechetto, Malvasia del Lazio and Malvasia di Candia. the wine is very light yellow straw color with green highlights. It has a medium high viscosity ( 13.5% abv). It shows a very interesting nose with notes of jasmine and white stone fruits. Some lighter notes of citrus. The palate confirms the nose with a medium body ( although the wine is unctions in the mouth ) a medium finish and high acidity. in summary a good wine to drink chilled ( not too much though to enjoy the nose ); its a good representation of the most recent evolution of the Frascati region. The winery was in Monteporzio Catone near Rome, overlooking the hills with the vineyards on a good altitude to allow the crisp acidity. To be paired with any fish pasta sauce or as good aperitif in a hot summer day or night. PM: 88
