2011 Serpico : Feudi di San Gregorio

This is a red wine from Feudi di San Gregorio; it’s one of their gran Cru wines. It’s made with Aglianico from a vineyard called Serpico. The wine is a dark ruby with the rim not true with the core given the bottle aging.the viscosity is medium high (14.5% abv). The notes of blackberries, prunes and tertiary of tobacco and dark chocolate. Truly a great nose. The palate confirms the nose but it’s a little disappointing after such exciting nose, the medium high body is not in perfect balance with the high alcohol. In summary a good wine for a great wine and a perfect pairing with any meat dish or pasta. Pm 91.
