2017 Domain Denis Bouchacourt Macon Solutre

This is a white wine from Bourgogne ( Macon Pouilly Fousse ). We visited this winery in our trip of Borgogne in 2019. Macon is the southern part of the Bourgogne wine production area that produces mostly Chardonnay based wines.

Appearance: A radiant golden hue, shimmering with hints of pale green at the edges, suggesting a youthful vitality.

Nose: The bouquet opens with an inviting medley of ripe citrus fruits, notably Meyer lemon and tangy grapefruit, interwoven with delicate white floral undertones. A subtle mineral essence lingers in the background, adding depth and complexity.

Palate: On the palate, Les Condemines displays a graceful balance between its vibrant acidity and luscious texture. The initial burst of citrus continues, joined by flavors of crisp green apple and a touch of stone fruit, possibly white peach. The wine's inherent minerality imparts a lively freshness, enhancing the overall structure.

Finish: The finish is lingering and satisfying, leaving a trail of citrus zest and a gentle hint of saline minerality. The wine's well-integrated oak influence contributes a subtle touch of vanilla and toasty warmth, enhancing the overall harmony.

Overall Impression: Les Condemines by Pascal Vervier 2017 is a captivating white wine that showcases the finesse of its terroir. Its interplay of vibrant fruit, elegant florals, and mineral complexity make it a delightful representation of its vintage. This wine is approachable now, yet hints at the potential for further development over the next few years. A testament to the winemaker's skill and the vineyard's character, it's a true pleasure to savor.
