Hands of Time 2015

This is an historic wine. In 1976 there was a blind tasting in Paris known as the Judgement of Paris. organized in Paris on 24 May 1976 by Steven Spurrier, a British wine merchant, in which French judges carried out two blind tasting comparisons: one of top-quality Chardonnays and another of red wines (Bordeaux wines from France and Cabernet Sauvignon wines from California). A Californian wine rated best in each category, which caused surprise as France was generally regarded as being the foremost producer of the world's best wines. Spurrier sold only French wine and believed that the California wines would not win.

Stag’s Leap won. Although this wine is a blend with an high percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon.

The wine is clear, filtered with a dark ruby color.  The viscosity is high pointing to an abv of 15% . Typical of a California Cabernet  in a very warm vintage. On the nose a very fruit forward wine with blackberry and black currant notes. Dark chocolate and tobacco in the background. The palate confirms the nose with a balanced smooth tannins and acidity. The persistence is medium and the body is very high given the abv. A good wine perfect with a steak.
