Ottocento 2014 - Giorgio Clai

Giorgio Clai is definitely one of the emerging Istrian ( Croatia ) wine making. I visited his winery in August 2017. Ottocento is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Refosco. The wine is a full sensorial experience with a deep ruby color with a medium high viscosity ( 14% abv) and the nose strikes us  with an harmonious set of red and black fruits notes ( blackberry, black cherry and plum) intertwined with floral notes of roses and sigar box. The palate confirms the nose with a full body wine, a perfect balance of acidity and soft  tannins and a long persistence. A very good wine with a full body, to be paired  with a great streak...
