Producer Overview
Livio Felluga is one of the most respected and pioneering producers in Friuli Venezia Giulia, often called the “patriarch of Friulian wine.” Founded in the mid-20th century, the estate is based in Rosazzo, in the Colli Orientali hills, where Livio Felluga himself helped revive postwar viticulture by focusing on hillside vineyards and quality white wines. Today, the Felluga family continues his legacy with an approach that combines meticulous vineyard work, gentle winemaking, and unwavering respect for terroir.

Grapes & Terroir
• Chardonnay provides structure, ripeness, and creamy texture.
• Ribolla Gialla, an ancient native Friulian variety, adds freshness, aromatic lift, and a distinctive citrus-mineral character.
The grapes are sourced from hillside vineyards with flysch soils — a mixture of marl and sandstone — typical of the Colli Orientali area. This soil composition ensures excellent drainage, complex aromatics, and precise minerality in the finished wine.
⸻
Vinification
After gentle pressing, the must is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve aromatic purity. The wine rests on fine lees for a short period, gaining roundness and subtle complexity before bottling.

Tasting Notes
Appearance: Bright straw yellow with light golden reflections, luminous and clear.
Nose: Elegant and inviting, with aromas of white peach, pear, and lemon blossom, followed by delicate notes of tropical fruit, acacia, and fresh herbs. Subtle hints of almond and wet stone reveal its Ribolla Gialla heritage.
Palate: Fresh, balanced, and medium-bodied. The entry is smooth and rounded thanks to the Chardonnay, yet quickly lifted by Ribolla’s lively acidity. Flavors of citrus zest, apple, and melon unfold over a backdrop of mineral tension and gentle salinity.
Finish: Persistent and harmonious, with notes of lime, green almond, and a refreshing saline finish that leaves the palate clean and vibrant.
⸻
Food Pairing
A versatile wine that pairs beautifully with:
• Seafood and shellfish (scallops, sea bass, shrimp risotto)
• Poultry or veal in light sauces
• Vegetable-based pasta or risotto
• Fresh cheeses such as mozzarella or stracciatella

Serving Suggestions
Serve at 8–10°C (46–50°F) in a medium-sized white wine glass to appreciate its layered aromatics and textural balance. The 2022 vintage is enjoyable now but will hold gracefully for another 2–3 years.PM 91
