Villa Matilde is one of Campania’s benchmark wineries, historically associated with the revival of Falerno del Massico and deeply committed to native varieties. The estate works with high-altitude vineyards located between Sessa Aurunca and the Benevento area, on soils rich in volcanic residues, mineral sands, fossil substrates and clays. Their vision combines scientific precision with a strong respect for Campania’s terroir.
Grape Variety
100% Aglianico, harvested slightly early to preserve freshness and aromatic lift. In this rosato interpretation, the grape shows its more delicate side: crisp acidity, bright red fruit and subtle floral tones.
Winemaking
The grapes undergo short cryomaceration, followed by gentle pressing and fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperatures. The wine ages a few months in steel to preserve purity, finesse and aromatic definition.

Tasting Notes
Appearance
The wine displays a pale, luminous rose-petal color, almost a light cerasuolo, brilliant and inviting.
Nose
The bouquet opens with fresh red berries—wild strawberry, red currant, raspberry—followed by rose petals, violet and a hint of pomegranate. A subtle mineral edge recalls the volcanic and sandy soils of the Falerno area, adding depth and tension.
Palate
The attack is crisp and refreshing, with a clean, vibrant acidity typical of Aglianico harvested early. The mid-palate shows juicy red fruit, pink grapefruit, and floral notes that return delicately.
The texture is smooth yet structured, with a pleasant sapidity that lengthens the finish. The wine remains perfectly balanced: fruity but not sweet, refreshing without being sharp.
Finish
Medium-long, marked by red berry tones and a delicate mineral impression.
