A. SAMMARCO Furore Costa D’Amalfi Rosso 2015

This is a red wine from the Amalfi Coast DOC Appellation in Campania ( Italy ). We visited this winery in August 2018 (See blog related to the visit). Furore is one of the three sub zones of the DOC appellation ( Ravello and Tramonti the other two). The wine is a blend of Aglianico and Piedirosso. The color is a dark ruby and the core is no true to the rim, the viscosity is medium high (13.5% abv). The nose is invitating with red and black fruits ( cherry and blackberry). A secondary notes of dark chocolate. The palate confirms the nose with a medium full body warm tannins and a balanced acidity. The persistence is medium long .. with the lingering notes of black pepper and sapidity. the wine is a great pairing with BBQ Meats or with hard cheeses, and can be used as a everyday wine, especially in the winter.
