Apicella Colli di Salerno 2016.

This is a red wine from Giuseppe Apicella; a producer in the Tramonti sub zones of the Amalfi Coast Doc.

We visited them numerous times and last in December 2021.

The wine is made of Piedirosso grape. The color is a tenuous ruby almost translucent with a medium viscosity ( 13% abv). The nose is intriguing with notes of cherries ,raspberries and floral notes of geraniums. The palate is gentle, smooth with a perfectly balanced acidity and a very soft and velvety tannins. May be is the persistence where this wine lacks a little , but overall a good value wine. Perfect pairing with white meat dishes or even delicate fish. Pm 89.
