IOVI TONANT - Masseria Frattasi 2015

This is a red wine from the Taburno DOCG in the Campania region. It’s a Riserva for its longer aging in wood. It’s name comes from the historical event of the “Forche Claudine” one of the most infamous Roman defeat in 300 BC. The color is a dark ruby with purple highlights and a viscosity medium high (14% abv ). The nose it’s intriguing and appealing with notes of black fruits , tobacco. The palate disappoints after such inviting nose, with a medium low body, a restrained tannins, medium acidity but a very short finish … that makes you wonder if you drank it. The pairing is with any meat dish or pasta .. we did it with a lasagna … PM 88
