Liscone 2014 - Cantina Madonna delle Grazie

This is a red wine from Aglianico del Vulture a wine from Basilicata. The producer is Cantina Madonna delle Grazie in Venosa ( Basilicata ). We visited this winery in December 2018 ( see the blog related to this visit on the wine voyager.con). Aglianico del Vulture is a great Aglianico with over 22 perfect vintages in the last 26 years. The wine is dark ruby with the core not true to the rim showing a perfect bottle aging. The viscosity is medium high ( 14% abv ). The wine is filtered. The nose is truly extraordinary with notes of black fruits ( black berry and black currant). Tertiary notes of cedar wood and cigar box. Truly enticing , can smell it all day long. The palate doesn’t disappoint and confirms the nose with a medium high body, perfectly balanced acidity and velvety tannins ( they can also used more time to smooth further) and a very long persistence. This is a very good value wine , very well done and a perfect pairing with any grilled meat ( we paired with grilled ribs a truly perfect match for it ). PM: 95
