Vigna Lapillo 2017 - Sorrentino

Paolo Mittiga

This is a red wine produced by Sorrentino. The name is Vigna Lapillo a vineyard located on the foothills of Mt Vesuvius. We visited this winery in July 2020 ( see blog of the visit ). The wine is made from Piedirosso grape. It’s shows a light translucent ruby color with a medium viscosity (13.5% abv). It shows a perfect aging in the bottle (4 years ). It is a fruit forward wine with notes of cherries and wild strawberries and secondary notes of truffles. The palate confirms the nose with a medium

High acidity and harsh tannins ( the wine can age even longer ), a medium body and unfortunately a low persistence. In summary a good average wine ( for this vintage ) for every day consumption a food pairing with white meat dishes ( we paired with pork ). PM: 89
