Montefalco Rosso - 2009 - Edizione Speciale corsa del Bove. Romanelli

This is a special edition of a Montefalco Rosso wine from Umbria. It is a 2009 made in occasion of a special event of a Bull Run fest in Montefalco. The wine is a blend of Sangiovese and Sagrantino. It has a deep garnet color , its clear and it shows a medium high viscosity for a 14.5% abv. It also shows a bottle aging with the rim of a lighter color from the core. The nose has moderate intensity with notes of black cherries , prunes, blackberries and licorice. The palate confirms the nose with a full body wine , with soft tannins a moderate flavor and a perfect balance among all the components and a medium finish. A very good wine with a perfect balance of fruit and secondary flavors and a full body to be paired with seasoned cheeses or grilled meat. PM: 91
