o’ RRe 2017 - Vigna Villae

This is a wine from the Campania region Taurasi. It’s is Aglianico based. I visited this winery few times in 2018 during my visit in the region. The color is a dark ruby with purple highlights. The viscosity is medium high (14.5%abv). The nose is multifaceted with aromas if black fruits like blackberry and black cherry, there is secondary aromas of lecorice and dark chocolate and finally black pepper. Very invitating. The palate confirms the nose with a full body wine very persistent a medium acidity and smooth tannins despite the young age. In summary a very good wine from Vigna Villae, this is their top cru and it shows in its intensity and aromatics. To be paired with meat and hard seasoned cheeses or with pasta bolognese. PM:92
