Il Prelimare - 2017 Cantine del Notaio.

This is a white wine from Cantine del Notaio in Basilicata near Venosa. We visited this winery in December 2018. ( See the blog related to the visit). The wine is an IGT wine ( the lowest level of the Italian Appellation Hierarchy ) because it is the blend of many grapes : Aglianico, Malvasia, Chardonnay and Moscato. Despite this, the wine is very aromatic and interesting in its full range of flavors. It’s clear and filtered with a medium high viscosity ( 13.5% abv). The nose it’s a kaleidoscope of aromas, from tropical fruits to green apples and lemon zest and floral notes of orange blossoms. The palate presents a wine with a perfect balance of acidity and a medium high body, almost unctuous with a medium long persistence. In summary a very enjoyable wine and a perfect value, to drink as aperitif or with any raw shellfish or fish dish. PM: 89.
