Piedirosso Campi Flegrei DOC 2018 - La Sibilla

This is a wine from the Piedirosso grape 

( indigenous to Campania and ubiquitous to many appellations of the region ). This one is from the Campi Flegrei DOC, typical from this part of Campania with its vulcanic soil. 

It is produced by La Sibilla that we visited on May 1st 2019 , see the blog dedicated to that visit. 

The wine is dark ruby in color it shows a medium

Low viscosity (12.5% abv). The nose is very pleasant  with red fruits aromas , cherry, red currant all wrapped in licorice. The palate confirms the nose with a medium body , smooth tannins and a medium acidity and a good persistence. In summary a good every day wine made from Piedirosso to be pair with almost everything from the region but especially with any pasta dish in red or meat sauce and any light  meat dish. PM:89
