Opera Mia 2012 - Cavalier Pepe

This is a red wine from Tenuta Cavalier Pepe.  

It’s based on the Aglianico grape from the Taurasi DOCG area and specifically from the vineyards of Carazita and Pesano. 

The color is a dark ruby with the rim not true to the core; showing some bottle aging. The viscosity is medium high (14.5% abv). The nose is very exciting with notes of black currant, black cherry and tobacco. The palate presents a full body wine with warm and supple tannins ( most likely due to the aging ) a perfect long finish with hints of spices. An excellent full body wine  perfectly paired with a juicy steak or with seasoned cheeses. PM 96
