RUVERSA 2015 - Cantina Marilina

This is a wine from Sicily, made from Nero D’Avola. We visited this winery : Cantina Marilina in March 2019. The winery is in the Noto province , it is the area producing among the best Nero D’Avola in Sicily. The wine is dark ruby in color, with purple highlights, with medium low viscosity (12.5% abv). The nose is truly engaging with clear notes of black berry, black cherry and secondary notes of licorice and dark chocolate. It is one of those which you want to come back and smell again. The palate shows a wine with a medium body a perfectly balanced acidity and smooth tannins, very enjoyable and long lasting persistence. In summary an extremely good wine , which reflects the best Nero D’Avola. A perfect pairing with hard seasoned cheeses or any meat dish; I personally tatsted with a juicy steak and it was a perfect match. PM: 95
