Fiano di Avellino DOCG: Cantine di Marzo 2016
This is a white wine made from the Fiano grape. Fiano grape is indigenous to the Irpinia region, especially in the area of Lapio. We have visited this are la multiple times. The di Marzo winery is an ancient one in the area and we visited them in 2017 ( see the blog dedicated to that visit). The wine is clear and filtered and of a deep straw yellow with golden highlights. It’s clear and filtered with a medium viscosity ( 13% abv). The nose is very inviting with floreal notes of white flowers and jasmine, followed by white peaches and pineapple. The palate confirms the nose with a perfectly balanced acidity and a medium long persistence. In summery a excellent Fiano with a good nose a perfectly balanced palate to be paired with any delicate fish dishes or pastas. PM: 91
